We have young kids who are growing up fast, and one of Jen’s most unique qualities is that she is not only one step ahead of us about how to change the spaces for them, but they goes the extra step to engage the kids in collaboration so they feel like they’re designing it with her. Jenn Messina of Jennifer Messina Interiors has been a dream to work with on my whole house remodel. I had been living in a very dated 1990's home but was stuck with how to proceed with refreshing my home. Also, as a active real estate agent in Marin County California, I see a lot of homes in my professional travels. After having several people who had worked with Jenn refer her, I decided to hire her to help me navigate the complicated process of a remodel that touched every surface because of her knowledge, experience, style but most of all because I knew I wanted someone as kind and patient working side by side with me through what can be a stressful and fraught process. Jenn has not disappointed. She started by listening and taking notes and then presenting me with concepts and then materials for my home that we winnowed down to final choices. We ordered many items such as flooring, tile, stone and appliances and plumbing fixtures in advance so that once the project started we were not slowed down by delays in supply chain which is so critical in this environment. We have been mostly on budget ( most change orders initiated by me!) and on time. We have had a few hiccups ( what large project doesn't have them) but she has been gracious and taken responsibility to helping find workable solutions. The project is 99% done now. We are in the fun and final stage with her helping me now source furniture and accessories for my new home down to the smallest detail because she wants it all to look beautiful and cohesive. We had a downstairs space that felt so dark and cold. I was so frustrated with myself, and my inability to figure out how to change it. I was blown away with the ease with which Jennifer came into my space, had a vision, and made it all happen. Very generous designer who made my tiny rental feel spacious and bright! So grateful for Jenn’s excellent list of recommendations she offered me within 24 hours after seeing my home. She helped me realize that my space doesn’t have to be or feel small by changing a few simple things such as, painting the interior, raising all the curtain rods to make my ceiling feel higher, layer cowhides on the cold tiled floor, moved my paintings around that made more sense to view, helped me find beautiful decorative pillows, dining table and chairs, and the most comfy modern chair and ottoman we all fight over to sit in and most importantly she suggested many choices to choose from to change out all the old dated light fixtures.
